PCI Express 16 Reed Relay Output / 16 Isolated Input Digital Interface With Socketed Resistors

The 8004Hec (DIO-32.PCIe) digital I/O interface provides 16 optically isolated inputs and 16 reed relay SPST (single pole-single throw) outputs. The inputs protect the PC and other sensitive equipment from spikes and ground loop current that can be generated in industrial environments, while the outputs provide high quality, long life, low current (10 Watt maximum), dry contact switch closures. Reed relays are well suited for low current applications. The relays are normally open, and close when energized.

The 8004Hec is designed to be used with Windows Operating Systems. The SeaI/O API (Application Programming Interface) included in Sealevel’s software provides a variety of useful high-level function calls implemented as a Windows dynamic link library (.DLL). In addition to the API, SeaI/O includes a device driver, sample code, and utilities to simplify software development.

For static surface mount resistors, rated for 3-30V, order the 8004ec.

The inputs on the 8004Hec features socketed DIP resistors which allow the user to configure an input range (up to +36V) based on what socket resistors the user selects. The chosen socketed resistor value will determine what the turn-on voltage will be for the optically isolated inputs. (See User Manual Pg. 15 for 8004Hec Socketed Input Resistor Selection Table).
